Every Easter Saturday, Corowa's Sanger Street becomes a downhill track where homemade and professional racers compete for the Australian Billy Cart Championship title.
Resurrected with a bang in 2025 by the Corowa Lions Club, the event draws thousands of spectators and competitors from all over Australia—ranging from local school kids to professional engineering enthusiasts.
Races are divided into categories including Juniors (9 & under), 10–13 years, 14–17 years, Open Class, and an Over 60s Class.
Beyond the racing, the day features market stalls, live music, and family-themed activities for kids.
You'll see everything from "old school" wooden crates to aerodynamic, professionally-built speed machines.
Don't have a cart? Hire carts are available for those who want to join the fray on the day.
